Tatamagouche Brewing Company

Many years ago, a two-headed calf came to Tatamagouche. We think it’s no coincidence that he happened to show up here. After all, Tatamagouche is a place full of many strange and wonderful things. It’s a little town with big ideas. A town that’s always looking forward while still keeping an eye on the past.

This two-headed place is our home and it inspired us to make good beer for good people. Beer that just happens to be a mix of the traditional and the unexpected.

We are the Tatamagouche Brewing Company.

Let’s raise a glass to Pure Tatamagoodness.

Our Story

We’re a family owned and operated microbrewery located in the heart of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. In 2014, we converted an old butcher shop into a community brewery where we make small batches of organic, tasty handcrafted beer.

It’s good beer for good people, and we can’t wait for you to try it.

The Beer

Hippie Dippie Pale Ale:

Much like the free spirits of Tatamagouche, this unfiltered pale ale is approachable, refreshing, and organic. The Ahtanum hops lend floral and spicy hints with an earthy pine aroma. No hippies were harmed in the making of this beer!

  • 1L growler bottle: $5
  • Fill: $7.50
  • 473mL can: $4.25
  • 20L keg for pick up: $99.50 + tax
  • for delivery (licensees only): $104.50 + tax
  • 5% Alc./Vol.

Butcher Block Red:

Butcher Block Red pays tribute to the longtime butcher shop on Main Street in Tatamagouche. This crisp, organic red ale owes its bold flavour to El Dorado’s fruity whole hops and the rich bitterness of roasted barley. A beer made for beer drinkers, it pairs well with a hard day’s work.

  • 1L growler bottle: $5
  • Fill: $8.00
  • 473mL can: $4.50
  • 20L keg for pick up: $104.50 + tax
  • for delivery (licensees only): $109.50 + tax
  • 6% Alc./Vol.

North Shore Lagered Ale:

A Bronze Medal Winner at 2015 Canadian Brewing Awards, North Shore Lagered Ale is a Tatamagouche tribute to the traditional beer of Cologne, Germany. First top fermented (like an ale) and then cold aged for a lengthy period (like a lager), this beer is crisp and refreshing. North Shore Lagered Ale has light ale notes, with a lager-like crispness.
